Take on Your Walk to help Theirworld

This June, help every child have a safe place to learn by taking on the challenge of walking 26 miles.

26 miles to represent the astonishing 260 million children worldwide missing out on education including millions of refugees.

You can do Your Walk your way. You can walk it in one day, a weekend, a week or spread over the month. Walk when and where you want, alone or with friends.

Join us and raise money so Theirworld can continue to work to make sure every child, everywhere, can get the best start in life through education.

Why Walk for

The world is suffering from a global education crisis. Even before the pandemic disrupted education systems worldwide, 260 millon children were already out of school.

That’s 260 million children whose potential is not being met, 260 million children who will have no chance to expand their horizons and 260 million children who will lack the skills to help make meaningful change to society once they are older.

Theirworld is founded on the unshakeable belief that education is the key to unlocking solutions to the world's problems. We set agendas, forge powerful partnerships, campaign and innovate to ensure that education is accessible to all children, including those 260 million.

Education increases a child’s chance of having a healthy life, reduces mortality and has benefits for health and well–being. It can promote gender equality, peace, and climate action. Also, education is a powerful alternative to prevent children from being exposed to dangerous environments such as child workers, forced marriage, child trafficking, sexual exploitation and recruitment by armed forces and extremists.

The benefits of schooling are transformative and multi-generational – a child whose mother can read is 50% more likely to live past the age of five and twice as likely to attend school themselves. With just one additional school year, a woman’s earnings can increase by up to a fifth.

Through Theirworld, Your Walk, we will help unleash the potential of the next generation by raising funds to give every child the best start in life, a safe place to learn and skills for the future.
